In this one-day seminar, John provides students with a working framework for them to use in creating a career development practice that will serve them not only as a way of securing their first job out of school, but will provide a life-long methodology for maintaining the visibility and connectivity that will keep them getting jobs for their whole lives.
Tools include traditional approaches to building resumes and taking interviews, but go further by providing:
- keys to better verbal, written and electronic communications,
- an understanding of personal branding and the appropriate use of social media, and
- a methodology for building and maintaining a personal career development network.
Finally, the seminar covers the process of working with mentors, from seeking out a mentor to developing a productive relationship.
